Ground Transportation

Perth Airport is situated some 12km east of Perth CBD, and there is some practical rather than flashy methods of transport. Travel time to the city is usually 20 - 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Airport Line Train (T1/T2 & T3/T4)
The Airport Line links Perth Airport directly with the CBD of Perth through Redcliffe and Airport Central stations. Trains operate very often during the day, and the trip to the city centre takes about 18-20 min. Airport Central Station is connected to Terminal 1 and 2 by a short covered walkway and Redcliffe Station connects to Terminals 3 and 4 by means of a shuttle bus.

Taxi Services
Dedicated taxi ranks outside of each terminal, metered fares to Perth CBD. Travel time is 20 - 30 minutes on average, during normal traffic. During peak arrival waves, short waits can be experienced, but generally, taxis are available during the day and night.

Ride-Hailing (Uber, Ola, DiDi)
App-based ride services work from pre-set pick-up zones outside each terminal. Pickup points are clearly signposted, and it is possible to book on the app, so there isn't too much waiting around at busy night time arrivals.

Public Buses (Transperth)
Several Transperth bus routes run to the airport linking to surrounding suburbs and train stations. This is the cheapest option but it may necessitate transfers and a slightly longer travelling time if compared to the Airport Line.

Car Rentals
Major rental companies such as Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar and Thrifty have counters at the airport. Rental car facilities are within walking distance or a short shuttle ride within the terminals depending on arrival point.

If you're arriving in the late afternoon peak hours, the Airport Line train often gets you to the CBD faster than taking a road transport due to city traffic.
